About the event

During this extra long class we combine my unique Shakti Yin Yoga style with a delicious deep Yoga Nidra meditation. This Sunday morning session is like a mini-retreat, just for you.

‘Shakti Yin Yoga’ is completely unique and came to me (Jolien) as I felt the need to move my body in a free-flowing, feminine way before opening the body into a deep stretch during a Yin Yoga posture.

This made total sense to my whole being so like a strike of lightning, Shakti Yin Yoga was born.

I love inviting Shakti: a soft yet powerful life force energy, and let it ripple through my body like warm water. So that I can let it soften and open my hips and womb space, my heart, shoulders, throat or any part of my body that needs it.

When I alternate between Shakti free flow and Yin Yoga postures, my body seems to be more open to surrender even deeper into the Yin Yoga asanas which we will hold in stillness for several minutes.

Shakti is connected to feminine energy which reminds you of the power of your softness and strengthens your intuition.

While Yin Yoga balances out your energy, brings better circulation and flexibility and helps you release stored emotions and blockages.

Together they can bring deep restoration and healing to your being.

We finish our class with a delicious Yoga Nidra session aka “Sleep Yoga”. This is a guided meditation which brings you deeper and deeper into relaxation. The aim is to stay awake, but to slow down the brain waves. This state is incredibly healing for the mind-body connection and a powerful moment to let go of old beliefs and for setting new intentions.

I can’t wait to guide you through this delicious dance between flow and release, followed by deep relaxation.
